Autumn Somatic Movement and Voice Workshops

Guided by Marisa Grande
24-25 October & 28-29 November

BODY OF VOICE is a somatic approach that explores the dynamic relationship between body, movement, and voice. The Body of Voice Workshops are dedicated to the exploration of our Body as a foundation for our Voice. These Workshops are my current deepening into somatic, voice, movement, and the implications for the performative body, blending inner development and outer expression into an integral approach.

THE VOLUMINOUS BODY & THE HORIZONTAL DIAPHRAGMATIC SUPPORT
24-25 OCTOBER 2026, AT TAR-ARNHEM

In this BODY OF VOICE WORKSHOP, we will explore the three volumes and cavities of our body and their relationship through their respective diaphragms. Playing with volume, weight, gravity, we will encounter the dynamic dialogue between the three cavities and we will come into contact with internal muscle tissue, the diaphragms, and their horizontal function of support and relationship. Using Experiential Anatomy, Movement and Touch, we will explore our own body, work in pairs and in groups. The body and its tissues will be the focus of our attention to meet B R E A T H and VOICE.

Each participant will have the opportunity to explore and discover according to his/her degree of interest and practice. The invitation is for anyone with a genuine interest in body research and its relationship to vocal production. The voice is an expression and an extension of the body, we will explore together how it inhabits it, resonates, and returns to intertwine with its cellular matter.

RESONATING WITH THE SPINE & ENDOCRINE MAP FOR PRESENCE AND VOICE
28-29 NOVEMBER 2026, AT TAR-ARNHEM

In this BODY OF VOICE WORKSHOP, we will dive into the energetic support of our vertical body, exploring the endocrine map that configures through the length of the spine. Starting from sensing the Front of the Spine and its central support, we will tap into the landscape of endocrine glands, their specific qualities, and how each of them supports our physical and energetic body. The endocrine system is our primary chemical system for regulation and transformation. Through the close relationship between the endocrine glands and blood flow, the body is perceived as an interconnected whole, modulating reproduction, metabolism and response to the environment. Endocrine glands are located along the front surface of the Spine and are divided into three areas: below the earth, upon the earth, above the earth, each with its own nature and quality ofexpression. In this workshop, we will map a few, exploring their quality of presence, movement and voice. Endocrine glands are related to the essence and are deeply part of who we are. They are like crystals; they are the energy beyond words and actions.

-For who-

The invitation is for anyone with a genuine interest in body research and its relationship to vocal production. In these workshops, you have the opportunity to deepen and integrate your experience to support your artistic and performance practice; to explore and meet your inner world through a somatic approach. It is for singers, movers, performers, voice artists, and musicians who have been exposed to my approach and would like to deepen their view and practice, and for new people interested in engaging in an integrated somatic practice and its implications in how we stand in life and in relationship.
