Dance & Movement Workshop by Aïda Guirro Salinas (Danscollectief Arnhemse Meisjes)
I am thrilled to announce an upcoming series of workshops that I will be hosting over two different weekends this autumn, 2025. For the past few months, I have been studying Somatic Movement Education at the school for Body-Mind Centering®. Now, I want to share the wonders of tapping into the body and into the imagination. In this workshop, we will connect with bones, skin, organs and fluids. Dancing, moving, touching (self and other), and allowing voice to appear as another movement within the body.
How does the body sound? How does deep listening sound? How can we bring consciousness in a cellular level, where every cell has a voice, and a full allowance to be? Through individual exploration and partner work, we will embark on a journey into how the body wants to express and reveal itself. Overall, enjoy, move, dance and be! Each day, we will focus on a specific somatic element, building upon the previous day. Therefore, it is preferable to at least attend one full weekend.
For who? For dancers, movers, dance lovers, artists of all kinds, and anyone drawn to this description.
About Aïda
Aïda Guirro Salinas. Originally from Spain. Since I graduated from Artez Dansacademie in 2013, I freelance as a dance artist based in The Netherlands.
With dance and movement as my ground, I create and perform location work for different venues and contexts. In creation, I am inspired by somatic practices, instant composition, improvisation, partnering, floorwork, voice, yoga practices, and mix of disciplines. I am moved by the mind of the space, the rhythms of nature, silence, humour, questions, presence, time, the aliveness of the body – and the many myths of this life. Diving into Body-Mind Centering® has given me a lot of space and guidance to explore my own questions, to create new ones, and to sustain them – as only self experience is what informs me from within. So grateful for this way of learning!
